1. MEET BASIC MATERIAL NEEDS

MATTHEW 25 MINISTRIES CLOTHING BANK
MATTHEW 25 MINISTRIES PROVIDES CLOTHING FOR ALL AGES & SIZES, HYGIENE PRODUCTS AND BABY DIAPERS.
VARIOUS ASPECTS OF THE MINISTRY INCLUDE:

Work With Clients
On Tu/Wed/Th from 9AM - 12PM the Pantry is open to clients. Volunteers greet clients, explain the process, help distribute hygiene items, count items for check out. Volunteer 1-3 hours each day we are open.
Sort Clothes
During open hours or on your own with a scheduled time/day. Any amount of time is appreciated.
Take Items to Savers
Most non-textile items are not kept, so they are boxed up and taken to Savers. We often need volunteers to come, pick up the items and take them over. This is an on-call thing and doesn’t need to be done immediately when called.
Donate or collect donations
Always needing clothing and hygiene items donated to the pantry. Distribute flyers to neighbors.
Monthly Trip to Diaper Bank
On the 3rd Tuesday of the month, between 10AM-12PM diapers need to be picked up from the Diaper Bank in Meridian. A regular vehicle trunk space and possibly back seat is enough, no large vehicle needed. Diapers then need to be dropped off and unloaded at the Pantry before Noon.

Create a Database
Looking for a skilled computer database guru who can create an easy way for the volunteers to log in the clients when they come, record what they took, look up when they have been there before, etc.

Annually
Participate in the "Share the Day" event to distribute winter coats at the Hispanic Cultural Center on the Thursday before Thanksgiving.

2. SUPPORT EDUCATION

VOLUNTEER AT ENDEAVOR ELEMENTARY
Teacher Helpers All Grades
Give an hour or two a week and help out a teacher with special projects, helping kids read, reading stories, making copies, etc.

Yearly - Back to School Day
Each year we strive to help our friends at Endeavor through our physical presence at their back to school day.

Collect Supplies
Annually we host a drive to collect school supplies for teachers, as well as food for the school food pantry.

PARTNERSHIP WITH THE AFTER PROGRAM
Every day after school until 6 pm
Up to 15 kids are dropped off at our Hampton Hall building to get some extra attention. These kids are hand picked because of specific needs they have. These are middle school kids in the Nampa school district. Volunteers can offer some time from 3:30 - 6:00 pm to help with the program which may include helping with crafts, projects, homework, etc. Background check required.

PARTNERSHIP WITH BREAKING CHAINS
Prayer Partners
This is a new partnership for our congregation with Breaking Chains. Prayer needed for young adults working to obtain GED's.

3. JOURNEY WITH THE HOMELESS

CASE MANAGEMENT/DISCIPLESHIP
Ongoing
One-on-one (or couple-to-couple) discipleship in both life skills and developing a relationship with God. Expectations would be at least bi-monthly meetings with clients, work on goals both life skills and spiritual growth, be available for emergency situations, and participate in their lives. Training will be provided and oversight from Lakeview pastors.

Homeless Panel
On the 2nd Friday of each month, from 11:30 am - 1 pm, Idaho Housing and Finance Association provides a homeless panel discussion and 10-15 homeless people are encouraged to listen to some helpful training sessions and give their opinions for IHFA to learn and grow from. Lakeview hosts the meeting for Region 3 (Canyon County) in Hampton Hall. Lunch is provided at 11:30 and then the meeting starts at noon. Volunteers are needed for lunch preparation or clean-up and possible talking with clients (whatever you are most comfortable with).

PARTNERSHIP WITH SALVATION ARMY
Weekly Sunday Evening Dinner
Every Sunday evening from 4:30 - 6:30 pm we prepare, make and serve meals to those who are in need at the Salvation Army Family Shelter. 25-50 people come to dinner. Someone from Lakeview is in charge of the meal and other volunteers come to help. You can stay in the kitchen or sit with the clients, whatever you are most comfortable with.

NAMPA BICYCLE PROJECT (COMING SOON)
Hosted by Lakeview at Hampton Hall
Please call 208-412-6660 to donate used bikes to be fixed up for those in need. Bikes needed for people of all ages.

4. MINISTER TO INCARCERATED/RE-ENTERING SOCIETY
CANYON COUNTY JAIL
Bibles
Due to changes in the Canyon County Detention Center, inmates are no longer allowed books. However, Bibles can be mailed in with specific guidelines. We have found a way to ship in Bibles for under $10 a piece. (No used Bibles or Bibles mailed in by an individual are accepted.) So any donations toward this endeavor would be greatly appreciated. If someone is incarcerated at Canyon County and you would like to request a Bible, text (208) 695-3979. Over 150 Bibles have been shipped since the changes were made in 2024.
Letters to Inmates in Prison
Some inmates we minister to move on to prison and sending notes to them is a great way to keep their spirits up. This can be done via regular mail or email, or texting through the County Jails.

BIBLE STUDIES AT 'WALK WITH ME' TRANSITION HOUSES
Weekly Bible Studies
Provided at 2 different houses with 2-10 men available at each house for the Bible Study. These houses are for those who have most likely recently been incarcerated. These men are also encouraged to attend Lakeview or another church on Sunday. We currently have 2 teachers for these studies, but often with vacations and/or just breaks, volunteers are welcome if they are really interested.

BATTLE READY LIFE SKILLS GROUP
Weekly Meetings
Battle Ready meets Mondays at 7:00 pm in Hampton Hall. This ministry helps those in recovery, or those re-entering society after incarceration.

5. BUILD BRIDGES TO NEIGHBORHOOD
Halloween Trunk-or-Treat
Yearly volunteers decorate their trunks, donate candy, donate chili, or serve food. We invite neighbors from the community, students from Endeavor, and students from the After program to participate with their own trunks as well as bring families to trunk or treat. Lots of opportunities for new relationships at this event.
Yearly Angel Gifts & Party
In partnership with community businesses, gifts are purchased for families in need. Volunteers are needed to purchase gifts, help with the Christmas party and with the gift-wrapping day. This event strengthens bridges with Endeavor, the After program, the neighborhood, and community businesses. For 2025, we have set a goal to provide 4+ gifts to 50 children.

Annual Neighborhood Taco Truck Day
Free tacos for the neighborhood. Sunday, early June (TBA), 2025, 12:15 pm. All are welcome!

6. BLESS THOSE IN LONG-TERM CARE
PARK PLACE ASSISTED LIVING
Yearly Christmas caroling through the halls in December.
There is a desire to minister regularly to those living at Park Place. Please talk to the pastoral staff if you have a heart for this ministry.
